Dr Nigel Curtis

Dr Curtis is a Specialist Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with specialist surgical degrees and training from Great Britain and Australia, including a PhD in Microsurgical Nerve Repair. Born in Lincolnshire, England, Dr Curtis was a doctor in the Royal Navy and served with the Royal Marines in Central America and Cyprus before moving to Australia.

Dr Curtis has previously been Head of Surgery for the Central Coast and Northern Sydney Area Health Authority and Lead Examiner for overseas practitioners in the field Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and is qualified for both WorkCover and Motor Accident Authority assessments.
Dr Curtis performs the full field of oral and maxillofacial surgery including more simple procedures such as oral biopsies, removal of third molar (wisdom) teeth, dental implants plus other oral surgery. He also performs more complicated procedures involving facial fractures/trauma, temporomandibular joint surgery, orthognathic or facial realignment surgery, some facial cosmetic surgery, plus treats conditions such as salivary gland disorders.

Most of Dr Curtis’ patients have General Anaesthetics unless their age of medical condition precludes that. These patients often have Local Anaesthetic and Sedation. Most of Dr Curtis’ patients have antibiotics and pain relief prescribed to use at home.
