Dr Mike Millar
F.R.A.C.S., (Orth) F.A.Orth.A.,
— Orthopaedic Surgeon

Dr. Mike Millar is an Australian orthopaedic surgeon specializing in robotic and custom hip, knee, and sports reconstruction, as well as minimally invasive techniques for treating sports injuries. He has recently returned to the Northern Beaches in 2024 after completing his fellowship training and is excited to be practicing in the community where he resides with his wife and two young children.

Originally from Canada, Mike immigrated to Australia 20 years ago and now considers himself a true local. He graduated with honors from the University of Sydney and is passionate about helping his patients achieve their sporting best and live active, healthy lifestyles.

Mike's interest in sports medicine stems from his own experiences as an athlete. He played Division 1 hockey in Canada and even received a scholarship to the University of British Columbia. He also understands the impact of knee injuries firsthand, having undergone a knee reconstruction in his youth.

With the latest advancements in orthopaedic surgery, Mike can offer his patients joint-preserving, minimally invasive techniques that avoid the need for joint replacement. This means that patients can return to the high impact activities they love, such as surfing, running, and skiing. When joint replacement is required, Mike uses the latest robotics and custom implants in hip, knee and shoulder arthroplasty via muscle sparing approaches so that patients regain and maintain an active healthy lifestyle.

When he's not in the operating room, you can often find Mike enjoying the surf and sun at Mona Vale Beach with his family. Feel free to say hello if you see him around!
