Dr Lisa Cottee is a highly skilled country Ophthalmologist who has a special interest in cataract and oculoplastic surgery.
She brings a woman’s touch with many years’ experience both here in Australia and internationally. She is one of the pioneering surgeons in phacoemulsification cataract surgery (which is now common practice) and has taught country eye surgeons this technique.
Nominated by The Hon. Thomas George MP (Lismore) for Local Women of the Year Award Lisa is recognised for her inspirational humanitarian services. Lisa works extensively overseas each year operating on the blind and disadvantaged in Cambodia, China and Myanmar and teaching ocular surgery dealing with such difficult cases the likes of which are not seen in Australia today.
Lisa is a mother, competitive rower and cyclist and has returned to the beaches with her family. She specialises in cataract surgery, pterygium surgery, minor procedures such as blepharoplasties, entropion and ectropion (conditions of the eyelids) and removal of lesions. She also deals with dry eye disease and corneal problems.
